Automated Decisions

When a user clicks within the Application Toolbar or final Origination screen in the Workflow, the Loan or Account Origination modules submit the current application to the Decision Model assigned to the selected Loan or Account Sub-Product.

As part of the decisioning process, the following occurs upon clicking :

If not processed prior to decisioning, Credit Reports are pulled for the applicable applicant(s).
If not processed prior to decisioning, Debit Reports are pulled for the applicable applicant(s).
Loan terms are calculated.

Value of the Decision Order parameter for the Origination module is checked to verify whether the Loan or Account should be decisioned first.

The Decision Order parameter is set within the Underwriting tab of the Origination page in System Management (System Management > Modules > Origination). For more information on this parameter, please see the Underwriting section of the Origination topic in the Administrator Guide.

Stipulation and Decision Validation rules are executed.

Stipulation rules are not executed on existing account holder applications if the Account Decision for Existing Account Holder parameter in System Management > Modules > Origination is set to Auto Approve. To add stipulations to an application, one of the following methods can be used:
Option 1:

Set the Account Decision for Existing Account Holder solution parameter to Auto Approve.

Create an event/action pair with an action of Process Stipulation Rules that fires during the application process.

Option 2:

Set the Account Decision for Existing Account Holder solution parameter to Require Decision, which sends all applications through the decision process and runs stipulation rules.

Configure the Decision Model to auto approve applications for existing account holders.

Decisioning Rules assigned to the sub-product’s Loan and/or Account Decision Model are executed.

Depending on the configuration of the Decision Model and Decisioning Rules, an application may have one of the following decision results:

Decision

Description

Auto Approve

The application has been automatically approved by Automated Decision Processing.

Auto Decline

The application has been automatically declined by Automated Decision Processing.

If an application is auto declined, the default decline reason configured in System Management > Modules > Origination is set.

None

The Automated Decision Process may not render an Approve or Decline Decision. Applications may have their Status set to Pending Review, which requires a Senior Loan Officer or Underwriter review.
